Rock Climbing

Gavin had a birthday party he went to last week, where they went rock climbing. He came home and asked why we never took him, and that we need to take him now. The hosts of the party sent me this cute pic from their cell phone.

We are totally busy right now with dance, gymnastics, soccer and baseball. I also have a primary activity, engagement pictures and family coming over this week. Busy, busy!

Easter Break

For spring break this year we headed to St George for some fun in the sun. We went with the Evans clan, and rented two houses to fit us all. The houses were really nice, but our house didn't have any blinds! Can you believe it! We ended up buying tape and hanging up sheets, it all worked out. The kids had a blast playing in the pool and Marissa played so hard she even fell asleep in the pool. It was so funny! We also had a great time hiking Snow Canyon, playing at the park and eating at In and Out (Marissa's new favorite place to eat).

Gavin's Special Day

This weekend Gavin was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was so cute! He just kept saying, “I’m so happy Mom, I’m so happy.” Congrats buddy! I can’t believe how big he is getting, and he is such a good kid. We started the morning going to his cousin Blake’s baptism. Then in between baptisms we ran to Sam’s and the church to set up. But when we got to Sam’s they said they didn’t have an order for us. I was so mad, and needless to say they made some up for us, but it set up about a half our behind. So I didn’t get as much done at the church, and barely got dressed for the baptism in time, but it all worked out. Afterward everyone came to the church for ‘Linner.’

Happy Birthday Gavin

We have had a fun birthday week with Gavin. On Monday he had a space birthday party, were we ventured in the yucky weather to the Planetarium and watched "The Universe." It was pretty cool. The kids had so much fun there, we stayed way to long, and barely had time to eat cake and ice cream (I made this cool moon cake), do the space hunt and open presents. Gavin was very happy!
On Wednesday was Gavin's real birthday and we celebrated by eating at the Golden Corral. I ate way too much! Then we met with the bishop for Gav's baptism. Tomorrow he well be baptized and he is way excited.

Big Suprise

This morning I woke up to a big surprise. I went into the kid’s bathroom to do Gavin's hair, to find hair all over the floor. On close inspections I realized it was Lindsey's. When she woke up I asked her if she cut her hair, but she only hid her face and wouldn't get out of bed. There didn't seem to be too much hair on the floor, so I was pretty sure that we could salvage her hair cut. She finally got out of bed and I was shocked to see that she had completely cut off one side of her hair, along with chunks everywhere. Wow so little hair on the floor sure looked like a lot. I went to clean all the hair off the floor, but upon going to place it in the trashcan I discovered the bottom covered in hair. She had cut off A LOT! Needless to say my hairdresser got an emergency phone call at 9am this morning, and was so wonderful to fit Lindsey in. So not Lindsey has short hair. I think it was harder on me to see her long locks cut off then it was for her.

Dinner with Dad

Marissa is very inquisitive. She is always asking questions that are some times hard to answer. This morning she came and asked me if she had dance or gymnastics. I told her no, and she asked if any one else did. I said no, and then she asked if we had anything going on tonight. Again I said no, wondering what she was interested in. And then she asked if we could go to daddy's work and have dinner. She had me cornered there! How was I supposed to say no? She called daddy and sure enough we are heading to Salt Lake for dinner.

I completed these invites for Gavin’s Birthday party. He wanted to go to the planetarium, which severally limited how many people we were able to invite. But he loves, loves, LOVES space, and so this is perfect for him. I thought it was pretty cute.
